Nike SB Dunk Low Krampus

In the Alps and Central Europe, the night of December 5 belongs to Krampus: half goat and half demon, he is the folklore creature who, on Krampusnacht, the eve of Saint Nicholas, visits those who have misbehaved. In 2012, Nike SB turned him into a sneaker legend with the Dunk High Krampus designed by skate illustrator Sean Cliver, inspired by an old greeting card found by then-marketing manager Nick Halkias. Pony hair leather to mimic fur, crackle overlays, and a red-splashed midsole: some stores canceled it at the last minute due to its "satanic" themes, and it sold out online almost immediately.

Thirteen years later, the demon returns with the Nike SB Dunk Low Krampus, released in skate shops in late November and on SNKRS on December 2, 2025. The inspiration is magma: the crackle leather upper in Dark Smoke Grey and black cracks like volcanic rock, revealing the Campfire Orange layer underneath, with the cracked effect continuing onto the midsole. The basket weave tongue recalls the basket in which Krampus carries away the most unruly children.

As with the 2012 release, the beauty lies in the hidden details: under the tongue, Krampus appears with the message "Not Surprised", the insoles feature molten rock and a devilish face, and the Zoom Air pods hide the "Naughty List" and a pile of coal. The orange SB branding on the tongue completes a design that combines folklore, irony, and skate culture, in true Nike and Nike Dunk SB style. A chilling Christmas release that every collector would love to find under the tree.
