Born in Brooklyn the same year the Air Max 95 debuted, Aya Brown is a visual artist whose drawings and paintings celebrate Black and queer womanhood, sisterhood and the stories of her community. The AM95 had been her favourite sneaker since she was a young girl, and Sergio Lozano's silhouette became her Nike debut. Before the public release, the artist showed a Friends & Family version in brown suede, kept for a small circle and never put on sale, which instantly built up anticipation among fans of the Air Max line.

The retail version, the Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Aya Brown, was presented on 15 August 2026 with a pop-up in New York and launched worldwide on 21 August. The layered upper combines leather and mesh inserts in Atomic Green and black, with Anthracite separating the panels and University Red lighting up the visible Big Bubble units. Instead of classic laces there's a toggle system, paired with reflective details, while the A|Brown badge on the tongue and Aya's signature on the outsole, following you with every step, complete the project together with dedicated special packaging.

More than thirty years after its debut, the AM95 is still the favourite canvas for anyone who wants to tell a story, and Aya's speaks of art, community and childhood memories.
